Travis McCall made an official announcement at Prattville High School on Wednesday that he would join teammate Kevin Hamilton in Tuscaloosa to play for the Crimson Tide.

It was news he wanted to share with classmates, but he had been keeping quite since Christmas Day. McCall said, " I called Coach Randolph and Coach Shula Christmas night and let them know I would be coming to Alabama."

McCall has known for a while of his desire to play for Alabama. McCall added, "That is where I wanted to go. I felt very comfortable at Alabama, and I have gotten to know the coaches well. I have always liked Alabama the best."

It is known that McCall is a versatile athlete that could play other positions for the Tide, and he stated, "Well, right now, they are saying tight end, but I would not mind playing on defense. I would be working with Coach Randolph, and I really like him. I'm just open right now for any position."

Coach Paul Randolph's name comes up often as a well received Alabama coach and McCall said, "He is a fun guy to be around and he makes you feel real comfortable."

McCall will join former Prattville teammates, Kyle Tatum and Roman Harper on the Crimson Tide team. McCall added, "Trent Davidson (Alabama commit) and I attended an Auburn camp together last year, and we became friends. And of course, I am happy to be playing with my teammate Kevin Hamilton."

McCall added, "The only official visit I will be going on is my official visit to Alabama."
