Caldwell Chooses Alabama!

Antoine Caldwell made an official annonucement today that he will sign with Alabama in February. He let us know a little early where he would be headed, and this is what he had to say about his decision.

"Well, I have built a great relationship with Coach Randolph," said Antoine Caldwell. "It is kinda like a father-son relationship. He has opened my eyes of how I can be a part of a great tradition, and the field of study I want to go into is really good. I want to major in either sports medicine or physical therapy and maybe minor in criminology."

The Alabama coaching staff has made a great impression on Caldwell. "They are never negative. All they are interested in is selling Alabama. They are not into downing other schools," Caldwell said.

Coach Mike Shula, obviously, is a winner in the homes of these recruits. Caldwell added, "He is just a class guy. He is always real relaxed. When he came for the in-home visit, he made a great impression on my parents. He talked about other stuff besides football. We had a good vibe with each other. He did not come in and act cocky and all."

Caldwell has gotten to know a couple of the current Tide players as he related, "I have talked to Shaud Williams and Justin Smiley. We just talked football."

Caldwell went on to say, "I know B.J. Stabler (current Tide committ). We hit it off at one of the games. We felt real comfortable around each other."

Caldwell will cancel all other official visits.

With qualifying issues being crucial, Caldwell stated "I have a 21 on the ACT and I will be fully qualified."
