Stamps Discusses Commitment

Marcel Stamps was a late name to the recruiting process, but once his name surfaced, it didn't take him long to make a decision. Stamps talks about his commitment to the Crimson Tide.

Marcel Stamps, 6'3",190, WR, from 1A Brantley HS, became Alabama's 23rd commitment.

Stamps made his official visit to Tuscaloosa this weekend and he said, "I loved everything about it! I told Coach Shula yesterday afternoon that I was probably going to commit. I called him last night and told him."

Stamps grew up an Alabama fan and had been looking forward to his official visit to the University of Alabama. Stamps said about the coaching staff, "I really like Alabama. They are very classy, and I like that about them. They get things done the right way, and they work really hard. They are all down to earth guys."

Stamps said of his visit, "It was what I expected. Well, actually, it exceeded my expectations. It was a lot of fun, and I had a great time. Tyrone Prothro was my Player Host. He's a great guy!"

Stamps will not make any more visits and said, "I'm finished with everything."

When asked about academics, Stamps concluded with, "Yes, I will be qualified."
