Virginia RB Likes the Tide

Darrieus Ramsey is Virginia running back with Alabama ties that is receiving plenty of interest from schools across the country. He'd like to add the Crimson Tide to the list of schools recruiting him.

"I have received letters from Auburn, Ohio State, Florida State, Virginia, Duke, Maryland, and South Carolina. I would love to start receiving letters from Alabama. My dad is from Birmingham, and we have always been Alabama fans. They have a really good program down there," Darrieus Ramsey said.

Ramsey does not have a favorite right now but that could change once he starts receiving offers. "I don't have any favorites. Just wherever I can go and play," Ramsey replied.

The spring is the time many recruits have the opportunity to make some unofficial visits to the different schools and Ramsey has been doing that.

"I went to Auburn and Florida State. I also am going to go to Virginia and Maryland. Auburn is really nice. They have good warm-hearted people down there, and I was really pleased. I was really pleased at Florida State," Ramsey said. "But, there is not favoritism," Ramsey added.

Ramsey spoke to a few of the coaches while on his visits. "I was able to speak with Coach Lilly (recruiting coordinator/tight ends coach) at Florida State. I spoke with Coach Gran and Coach Chizik at Auburn. You could tell they are all hard-working people," Ramsey said.

As far as Ramsey's strengths on the field, he explained, "I can change direction really quick. I always seem to know what everyone is doing. I play like a video game. It's like a game inside a game."

Ramsey would like to improve a few things before his senior year. "I would like to improve my size. Also, with me being a senior this coming year, I would like to show good leadership," Ramsey replied.

This summer, Ramsey has plans to camp at Auburn, Virginia, and Florida State.
