Keith Brown, one of the top receivers Alabama signed with the '04 class, said "I'm fully qualified and ready to get to Alabama."
Brown, one of three wide receivers signed from Florida (D.J. Hall, Will Oakley),
already has a good relationship with one of the signees. "D.J. (Hall) and I
talk all the time. We both plan to report July 5th. We are going to be
roommates. We have talked a lot about coming in our freshman year and
playing," said Brown.
It is a very good possibility Brown, Hall and Oakley will see the playing field
this fall. When asked about his role, Brown replied, "I'm going in July to
basically work hard and put a lot of effort into it. I'm going early so I will
have the opportunity to work with Brodie (Croyle). I need to learn what I need
to do on every play."
Brown has all the tools and is ready to step on the field. "I learn very
quick. I have to in order for me to come in as a freshman and play like a
senior," Brown added.
Brown has been challenging himself in work-outs and doing his part to be ready.
"I have been working-out and running routes against college players. I feel
like that has helped me a lot."
Staying in close contact with the Alabama coaches has been high on Brown's list.
Brown added, "I have been talking to Coach Cheese (Harbison), Coach
Connelly, and I spoke with Coach Shula a few times."
This fall the Alabama work-out program will pay big dividends for the signees.
Brown said, "I have gotten a little bit bigger. I'm now 6' 3", 193. I
might add a few more pounds though."
Alabama is losing one wide receiver signee, Nikita Stover, who recently signed
with Itawamba (MS) Community College. The Crimson Tide will welcome the three
qualified Florida receivers, Keith Brown, D.J. Hall, and Will Oakley with open
