1st Two Offers for Florida Defender

Raphael Ousley is 6' 2" and 240 pound linebacker from Fort Walton Beach High School that could end up playing on the defensive line in college. He has already picked up two offers and names a leader.

"I have received offers from Alabama and Middle Tennessee State," said Ousley. "Alabama was the first to offer me. I received both offers over the phone. Coach Shula and Coach Connelly called and told me they really liked me on film and wanted me to come play for them. That got me really excited because I have always liked Alabama. They are my number one right now."

"Middle Tennessee State is in my top five. Their head coach called and offered me the scholarship. I have known him for a while. He has been coming to Fort Walton since my sophomore year, recruiting players from my team. He has always really liked me," Ousley added.

Ousley is still interested in other schools and said, "I'm also considering Florida State, they have called me, Florida, Auburn and Michigan."

This summer, Ousley plans to attend a few camps including Middle Tennessee State, Alabama and Florida.

When asked what he will look for from the different schools, Ousley replied, "I will be looking at the coaching staff and how good they coach. I will also look at all the surroundings."

D.J. Hall, '04 Alabama signee, is also from Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Hall attended another school in the area, Choctawhatchee High School.

"D.J. is really like my best friend. We hang out all the time. We have talked about playing at Alabama. He told me to definitely go visit and I would fall in love with the campus," Ousley said.
