"Yes, I committed to Alabama about twenty minutes ago," said Sam Burnthall. "I committed to Coach Ball and Coach Shula. I told them I was ready to commit. They said they were fired up and really excited."
Burnthall had several reasons for choosing the Tide.
"Since I was a little kid, I've always been an Alabama fan. There was
nowhere else that I wanted to go. I feel like Alabama is going to get back to
where they used to be. They had a great recruiting class last year, and I think
they are going to have another great recruiting class this year."
Burnthall also discussed his commitment with teammate Jerraud Powers.
"Yeah, I told him that I was committing to Alabama, and he just smiled at
me and asked me why I made the decision. I think it will influence him a little
bit. Jerraud told me that if I committed to Alabama than I would commit too, but
I don't know for sure."
Burnthall isn't planning on taking any other visits and will attend several
Alabama games in the fall.
"Yeah, that's going to be it for me. I'm going to try and make all of the
home games this year, and it will nice to get into the games for free,"
Burnthall added with a laugh.
