New Offer and Updated Leaders

Terrell Smith is one of the top players in Alabama. The South Hot 100 WR/DB received an offer from last year's BCS Champions.

"LSU has offered me. I didn't even know about it until today. I saw it in the paper, and I called my coach to confirm it. He said they had recently offered," said Terrell Smith.

With the new offer, it is now a two team race.

"I really liked getting the offer from LSU. The paper had said that I was committed, but I am not. I want to check it out and talk to the coaches first. It's between LSU and Alabama. I really like both schools a lot. I have some family in Louisiana, but I do not feel like that will play any role in my decision."

Smith attended one camp in July.

"I went to the Auburn camp. I really liked it a lot. I didn't think that I would like it. but I did. There was a lot of competition, and I was able to go up against some really good defensive backs," Smith said.

"I spoke to Coach Tuberville. He went and got Coach Knox and Coach Price and introduced me to them. After the camp, they told me that I should know I had a full ride to come and play at Auburn. I received the official offer in the mail the following Monday," Smith added.

Smith was scheduled to travel to Baton Rouge.

"I didn't make the LSU camp. My coach talked to Coach Fisher. He said I did not need to come. because they knew a lot about me. I will take an official visit to LSU."

Smith will try to make several games this fall.

"I am definitely going to the Alabama/LSU game. I will probably go to a few more Alabama games. I will try to make a few trips down to LSU. I have family there. I know that I can always go stay with them."

Pinson Valley star, Desmond Jennings, is a good friend of Smith's. Smith would love to be teammates with Jennings on the next level.

"We went to the Alabama camp together. We always talk about going to the same school. We talked about playing for the same high school. He would be wide receiver on one side and me on the other. That would have been great. He has told me he is leaning towards Georgia, but he is also really liking Alabama," said Smith.

As high schools, across the state, start back this week, Smith is pleased with his team after two-a-days.

"We just got finished with two-a-days on Saturday. We look pretty good. I was very impressed with our team. We have a lot of good receivers that can catch. We have been worried about depth at wide receiver, but we had sophomores catching passes. We play Pinson Valley in a fall jamboree. It will be fun to go up against Desmond (Jennings). I just want to come out on top though."

When asked about a decision, Smith replied, "I still plan to wait on making my decision until close to signing day. I am not really sure what I am going to do right now," said Smith.

Smith currently holds offers from Alabama, LSU, Auburn, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Clemson, and Louisville.
