Comes Away Impressed with the Tide

Sam Burnthall is a safety for Decatur High School. Burnthall is already off to a great senior season as his team is undefeated. The Alabama commitment traveled to Tuscaloosa to take in the game last week, and he came away very impressed.

Sam Burnthall traveled to Tuscaloosa, this past weekend, to watch Alabama play Utah State. This summer, Burnthall made a commitment to the Crimson Tide.

"I was down there. They looked pretty good for the first game. I will be there next weekend. I will probably be at all the homes games this season."

Jerraud Powers was also in attendance for the Utah State game. Burnthall is still trying to persuade the top defensive back to join him at Alabama.

"Yea, he was down there. He didn't come with me, but he was there with some other friends. I couldn't tell you what he is thinking right now. I really don't know what he is going to do. I don't know what he is waiting on. I am still talking to him about coming down there with me," said Burnthall.

Burnthall was able to speak with a few of his future coaches.

"I talked to Coach Ball and I spoke a little bit with Coach Shula. I wasn't really able to talk with any other commitments. I only just said hello and how you doing."

Alabama will not have to worry about Burnthall looking at any other schools.

"I am not planning on going anywhere else. The only official visit I'm going on is to Alabama," said Burnthall.

Decatur won their second game of the season as they defeated Shades Valley 27-8. Burnthall had a nice game.

"Things have been going really good. We beat Shades Valley on Friday. I had two interceptions in the game. We are 2-0, and we play Grissom at Decatur on Friday night," said Burnthall.
