JuCo Standout High on Tide/Buckeyes

Emory Jones is a 6-4 215 pound wide receiver for Northeast Community College in Booneville, Mississippi. Jones is one of the top junior college wide receivers in the country. Jones has received two official offers, but more are expected to come his way.

"The only official offers I have are from Mississippi State and Toledo. Auburn has told my coach they were going to offer me, but I have not received anything official. Michigan State also said they were going to offer. Alabama wants me to come for an official visit before they do anything," said Emory Jones.

Jones has been to one game this season. Jones was expected to be in Tuscaloosa for the Alabama-Ole Miss game, but was unable to attend.

"I went to the Mississippi State/Tulane game. Mississippi State played well. I was suppose to go to Alabama for the Ole Miss game, but I couldn't go. My mom flew down, and we were going to drive over there, but she was unable to get a rental car. I am going to try to go back over to Alabama sometime. I did watch the game on TV. though. I really like their quarterback," Jones said.

Alabama was considered an early favorite along with the Ohio State Buckeyes.

"I don't know if I could say Alabama is my favorite, but I really like them a lot. I also really like Ohio State. There is a possibility I could head back up north. I would love to be in an Ohio State jersey. They have a winning program and a lot of great athletes."

"First off, about Alabama is their quarterback. I would love to go over there and play with him. I feel a lot of love from Alabama and I like the atmosphere. They just got off of probation and now can make a run at the BCS. I feel like I could fit into their offense and it says a lot to wear an Alabama jersey. There is a lot of history and tradition and they are in the SEC," Jones added.

Jones is on pace to graduate this semester.

"This is going to be my last semester. That is my main focus right now is to graduate. I am too close to mess anything up. My grades are really good right now. I am taking 22 hours. I know that when I get out, I will be able to go in and contribute right away."

Northeast is off to a great start and Jones is having a great season.

"Things are going really well. We are 2-0. We play Coahoma this week at Home. In my first game, I had seven catches for 49 yards and last week I had six catches for 83 yards."

A decision will be made before Jones finishes his last season with Northeast.

"I want to have my decision made before the season is over. My mom is coming down for our homecoming game on October 16, and I would like to have my decision made by then," said Jones.
