He has a combination of physical ability and on the field work ethic that is unparalleled this year. Many dominant
Typically, when I am logging a game to put together a highlight film, I will watch it first, and I will write down the time code of the highlight type of plays. With Andre Smith, I just have to run the tape. They're almost all highlight blocks. Because he is so consistently dominant, I only used the 1st and 3rd quarters of Huffman's game against Woodlawn to get the best view of him in action at left tackle.
Except for one play in the second quarter when he is on the far side of the field. Pancaking a guy and knocking him to the turf so hard that his helmet bounces 10 yards away is highlight worthy no matter what quarter it happens (last play of the clip).
Keep an eye on the left tackle. He won't be hard to find. He's the one running around knocking everyone down. Sometimes it's hard to see him finish his block, even on a short yardage play, because so often, he has pushed his man off the screen.
It's way to early to say where Mr. Smith is going to play his college ball, but I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that he'll have his choice of any team in the country.
Total Access Pass Subscribers can get a look at him in action in TheInsiders Video. Hope you enjoy a preview of one of the top prospects in the Class of 2006, and if you have any questions or comments, please come see us on TheInsiders Recruiting Message Board
