Tide Offers Defensive End

Johnathan Holston is a defensive end from Rickards High School in Tallahassee, Fla. that you may not have heard about yet, but you're about to.

At 6-5 and 240 pounds, Johnathan Holston is easy to spot on the field before the game; then once the game starts, he is easy to spot during thegame as well. He makes play after play from his defensive end spot, and he finishes his tackles with ferocity.

Holston, like so many of the defensive linemen in the class of 2005, has the ability to play inside or outside on the next level at end or tackle depending on the team's needs. He may be a new name to recruitniks, but he has already caught the eye of several teams across the nation.

Here is a quick Q&A I held with him after his game against Godby on Friday night.

Who have you received offers from so far?
"I've gotten offers from Florida, Auburn, Alabama, Northern Illinois, UCF, and Troy State," said Holston.

Which of those offers were in writing?
"Alabama has offered me in writing."

Did you grow up with any favorite teams?
"Not really, I like them all."

Have you been to any college games so far?
"I'm supposed to go to Florida this weekend (vs. Arkansas)."

If you had to pick Five Schools to visit Officially next week, who would they be?
"Florida, Michigan State, Arkansas, Auburn, and Florida State in the home town."

Holston projects as a full qualifier.

I will post video of him this week of him in action against Godby, including a hit, than at worst can be described as a de-cleater, and at best a spinebuster.
