Louisville Making a Move for Alabama TE

Careg Bonner, of Huntsville High School, is one of the top tight end prospects in Alabama. Early in the recruiting process, Bonner was looking to stay in-state, but now another team is making a strong push to change his mind.

"I don't really have a favorite right now, but I am really starting to like Louisville. I don't know if they are my favorite, but they are high on my list. I really don't have an exact favorite right now," said Careg Bonner.

Throughout the season, Louisville has been making a strong impression with Bonner.

"They have that quarterback, Brohm, for the next few years. I really like their style of offense. When I went up there earlier in the year, I really liked the campus and the city. Coach Johnson is my recruiting coach and I really like him a lot."

"I have not set any visits yet. I know I am going to visit Alabama, Auburn, Louisville, and Tennessee. I was thinking about taking a visit to Mississippi State, but I heard about their probation today and that really caught me by surprise. I won't go to Mississippi State, but I might go somewhere else," said Bonner.

"I will wait until after my visits before I make a decision. I think the deciding factor for me, will be when I go on the visits, and have the opportunity to sit down with the coaches one-on-one. I am going to find the place where I fit in the best and where I can play."

When asked about college games he has attended , Bonner replied, "I didn't go to any games last weekend. I wanted to go up to the Alabama/Tennessee game. I went to the Auburn/Arkansas game two weeks ago. It was pretty good. Every Auburn game I have been to has been really good. I was able to speak with Coach Dunn at the game," said Bonner.

Several coaches are staying in contact.

" I talk to coaches from Louisville, Tennessee, Alabama, Auburn, and Mississippi State each week."

Friday night, Huntsville (3-6) will host Bob Jones.

"The season could be better. We have to win tomorrow night and another team in the city has to lose in order for us to make the playoffs. I have been having a pretty good season. I have thirty-four catches, five touchdowns, and around 400 yards," said Bonner.
