Alabama Depth Chart vs. Mississippi State

Alabama senior safety Carlos Andrews did not start against Mississippi State, but picked up his most significant playing time of the year filling in for an injured Charlie Peprah. Peprah played two plays in the game before giving way to Andrews.

Tight end David Cavan started Saturday's game in place of Clint Johnston. Johnston was not cleared to play due to a concussion, and Cavan, who has been injured throughout most of his career, earned his third start of the season. It was his first start since the Western Carolina Game on September 18.

Quarterback Spencer Pennington was the only Alabama player to be in on all 62 offensive plays, though he did line up at receiver on one play, when Tyrone Prothro took the snap from under center and raced for a touchdown.

Seeing his first playing time since 2001, sixth-year senior Antonio Carter played five offensive snaps as the clock winded down.

For the game, Alabama used 26 players on offense, 19 on defense and 16 players on special teams. Alabama played 61 of 80 who were eligible to play against Mississippi State in the 30-14 win on Saturday night.
