Alabama and Auburn Visit State's #1 Prospect

Tommy Trott is one of the top tight end prospects in the country. The regular season has ended in the SEC and coaches are beginning to make their in-home visits. Two schools, battling for Trott's signature, visited with the four star tight end Sunday.

"Coach Shula and Coach Randolph (Alabama) were here during the day. Then Coach Whitt, Coach Borges, and Coach Ensminger (Auburn) came at night," said Tommy Trott.

Alabama and Auburn are hoping to land the state's top player as Trott enjoys both visits.

"The visit with Coach Shula and Coach Randolph went really good. We just sat around and talked for a little bit. We had shish kabobs. The visit with all the Auburn coaches went really good."

Nothing has changed with the way Trott feels about his three favorites.

Alabama: "I Grew up an Alabama fan, and I really like the coaches a lot. Alabama is recruiting me the hardest out of my favorites."

Auburn: "They are having a great season. I really like the players and coaches a lot."

Miami: "It is a great place to go for tight ends. Coach Cristobal is a great coach and I like him a lot."

"I really don't have any leaders, right now. It is still Alabama, Auburn, and Miami. Alabama and Auburn are probably a little ahead of Miami. I probably won't have a leader until after my visits," said Trott.

The blue-chip tight end was in Tuscaloosa for the Iron Bowl and the two teams did not disappoint.

"It was a good game. Alabama played good in the first half and Auburn played good in the second half. I sat neutral."

Trott's senior season ended on Friday night, as Trinity Presbyterian (12-1) fell to Demopolis (13-0) 46-7. Trott had an outstanding career in his three years as a starter.

"Demopolis was awesome. We got behind and tried to play catch up. We didn't have our A game. I know Demopolis will win state this year. Their quarterback, Devin Goodwin, was awesome. He picked us apart. My career went pretty good. We had a 27 game win streak until Friday night. We won a state championship and we were 34-2 during my three years playing on the team. We just fell apart in our last game, but our class had a great career," said Trott.

As a senior, Trott caught forty-nine passes for 944 yards with thirteen touchdowns. He also rushed ten times for sixty-two yards with four touchdowns. On defense, Trott recorded fifty-one tackles, two sacks, and one interception returned for a touchdown.

Trott finished his career with forty-three total touchdowns.
