Smiley honored, Tiders in all-star games

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. --- A total of six Alabama football seniors have been selected to participate in upcoming post-season all-star games.

Senior tight end Terry Jones, Jr., flanker Jason McAddley, flanker Freddie Milons, defensive end Aries Monroe, placekicker Neal Thomas and quarterback Andrew Zow will combine to participate in three all-star games. Milons and Jones will play in the Senior Bowl on Jan. 26; Monroe, Thomas and Zow will participate in the Jan. 26 Gridiron Classic in Orlando, Fla. and McAddley will play in Hawaii's Hula Bowl on Feb. 2.

Zow owns five Alabama passing records and Milons is the Tide's career leader in pass receptions.

On another front, post-season accolades continue for Alabama redshirt freshman offensive guard Justin Smiley. After earning third-team All-America honors and Freshman All-SEC accolades, he was recently named to the Football Writers (FWAA) Freshman All-America team and was also named to The Sporting News Freshman All-SEC squad.

Smiley, a 6-3, 292-pounder from Ellabell, Georgia, was a starter in every game last season. He led the Tide offensive linemen in knock-down blocks with 133.
