Louisiana Athlete Gets Visit from Head Man

Zach Schreiber is a top linebacker from Evangel Christian Academy in Louisiana. He received a visit today from Head Coach Mike Shula and Coach Charlie Harbison.

"We talked about our season and our game this week in the semi-finals. I'm really focused on that right now. They wanted me to stay focused on winning the state championship and I appreciated that," Zach Schreiber said.

Coach Shula met with Schreiber at the school and others were included in the visit.

"My mom and all my other coaches had a chance to speak with Coach Shula. I really enjoyed the visit a lot. He (Coach Shula) is a young guy, and he relates real well with all the players. I know he is going to be there at least four more years and that's important to me."

Coach Charlie Harbison recruits the Louisiana area, and Schreiber has been impressed with his recruiting coach.

"He's a great guy. He's very spiritual, and that was great for me, because I attend a Christian school, and that is very important to me."

With the focus on the state championship game, Schreiber is not ready to announce any kind of a decision.

"We're focused on winning the state championship. If I decided to commit now, the newspaper people would be here and wanting to talk to me about it. I do not want to distract anything away from the team right now."

Evangel Christian will host Slidell for the semi-final game.
