South Hot 100 DB Sets Two Visits

Anthony Johnson is one the most talented athletes in the state of Mississippi. He is a member of the South Hot 100. Johnson's undefeated season ended in the second round of the play-offs. Two official visits have been set and Johnson is looking at three main schools.

"I am going to Alabama the first weekend of January. I am going to Mississippi State the second weekend of January. Right now, I really don't know who else I am going to visit. I will not make my decision until after all my visits, said Anthony Johnson.

"I don't really have a favorite right now, but my top three would be Auburn, Mississippi State, and Alabama," Johnson added.

Auburn: "I really like their defense. I know I would have to work really hard at cornerback to get a chance to play. They have a really good team this year. Every offense has to work to score points on their defense."

Mississippi State: "I have always liked them since I was little. They were always going to be among my favorite schools."

Alabama: "I love the atmosphere there. It would be so much fun to play there."

Johnson was scheduled to unofficially visit for the Iron Bowl.

"I didn't go to the game, but I watched it on TV It was a really good game. Alabama came out ready to play. It was a hard fought game, but as soon as Auburn scored their first touchdown it was over. Auburn just got all the momentum," said Johnson.

The three star athlete has yet to receive any in-home visits, but a few coaches are expected soon.

"No coaches have been here yet. Ole Miss and Southern Miss have both told me they were coming. Alabama and Auburn have not told me when they are going to come."

Provine High School finished the regular season undefeated, but fell short in their second round play-off loss to Oxford.

"We got put out in the second round to Oxford,16-13. As a team, we did really good this year. We went 11-1 and that is a good way to end. I felt like I had a pretty good year. I am not sure about any of my stats. I am working-out and getting my grades up for now. I am waiting on track in the spring," said Johnson.
