Shula Makes Big Impression on Texas DL

Cordero Moore, from Horn High School, in Mesquite, is one of the top defensive lineman in the state of Texas. Wednesday night, the Alabama coaches stopped by to visit.

We were able to speak with his father, Rod Moore, about the visit.

"Coach Shula and Coach Connelly were both here tonight (Wednesday). It went really good. My wife really liked them a lot. She thought they were more genuine than any of the other coaches she has met," said Moore.

The visit with Head Coach, Mike Shula, may have turned things around for the Tide.

"He is really starting to consider the (Alabama) a lot more now. It influenced him a lot that Coach Shula came to visit with him. He is definitely going on his visit to Alabama. Cordero really thinks Coach Shula is a lot more personal than other coaches. Coach Shula made a strong impression on him and I also really enjoyed meeting him."

Alabama is going to have stiff competition for Moore's signature.

"He is still considering Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, but Alabama is right there too. He is going to Alabama on January 7. I am going to be coming with him. I have not been there in so long. He is going to Arkansas this weekend for an official visit and he is going to Oklahoma State on December 10. He has not set up any other visits yet," said Moore.

The Dallas Morning News called Wednesday night, informing them Cordero Moore made the 1st team All-Area team.
