Alabama football coaches landed another top running back prospect Friday, when Ali Sharrief, Scout.com's three-star, number 46 ranked running back dropped his verbal commitment to Auburn and committed to the Tide.
Ali Sharrief called Head Coach Mike Shula and assistant Chris Ball Friday afternoon to deliver the news.
"The Alabama coaches have stuck with me since the beginning," Sharrief said. "I love Coach Shula and Coach Ball. They talk to me more than just about football, they talk to me about college and life."
Sharrief said he changed his commitment because he felt like Alabama was the better place for him. The 5-10, 190-pound back said that he had been considering the change for some time.
Sharrief said he called Auburn coach Don Dunn Friday morning, notifying the coach he was dropping his commitment to Auburn. Sharrief plans to take the ACT exam this weekend.
