Alabama on Verge of Next Commitment

Nick Kyles, 6-2, 185, of Baldwin High School, is one of the top wide receivers in the south. Alabama may receive a late Christmas present as the top receiver in Georgia closes in on his commitment.

Christmas Day, the Alabama coaching staff landed one of the top recruits in the country when Chris Keys decommitted from LSU and announced his commitment to Alabama. This week, Nick Kyles is expected to pull the trigger.

"I am really close. It could be sooner or later. It could be in the next few days or it could be next week," said Kyles.

"I have been really thinking about it. I am just making sure that it is the right decision for me. A few schools are wanting me to come for official visits, but I just don't think I want to wait that long," Kyles added.

Alabama and Georgia are recruiting the three star wide out and pushing hard for his signature.

When asked about the two schools, Kyles replied, "Alabama is still my definite leader. I called Coach Harbison the other day and talked with him for a while. He was saying the same thing as always. They still want me, but he is not pressuring me at all," said Kyles.

If Kyles holds off with his decision, a few schools may receive official visits.

"I am suppose to go to Auburn January 14th. I really don't think I am going to wait that long. Georgia wants me to come January 21, and I know I won't do that. Mississippi State and Clemson also want me to come for visits, but I don't know yet. If I do commit, I will not take any visits anywhere else. It will be all over for me."

This past week, Kyles played in the Georgia North/South All State game. Kyles did not have the opportunity to showcase his skills, but did haul in two big catches.

"The All-Star game went really good. I had two catches in the game. One was pretty big, it was a 45 yard catch. Our team really didn't throw the ball at all. It was a lot of fun being out there competing with those guys," said Kyles.
