Alabama arrived in Nashville to sub-freezing temperatures on Sunday, but the weather warmed a bit on Monday and the sun was out at Alabama's morning practice.

Safety Roman Harper works to get his teammates in good spirits at the beginning of the morning practice. Harper said the defense had its best practice since bowl preparation started on Sunday evening.

Brodie Croyle (left), Tim Castille (sitting) and Clint Johnston (right) were a part of the 118 to make the trip, but will not play in Friday's game. Ray Hudson (not pictured) also made the trpi to Nashville, but will not play.

True freshman tailback Aaron Johns is taking most of the repetitions in practice and will likely start if Kenneth Darby is not able to play.

Mike Shula will be coaching his first bowl game against Minnesota on Friday.

Theo Townsend, from Antioch, Tenn., received a lot of attention from Nashville media on Sunday. The freshman from Brentwood Academy is working behind Johns at tailback.
