Checking in on Class of 2004 Signee

Jeramie Holifield, 6-5, 250, from Northwest Community College, was one of the top defensive lineman in the south for Hoover High School. Holifield signed with Alabama with the class of 2004. He is now attending junior college in Mississippi. Holifield is planning to re-sign with the Tide with the Class of 2006.

"I still plan on signing with Alabama. I may open my recruitment back up, but I probably won't because my mind is set on going to Alabama," said Jeramie Holifield.

During his time at Northwest, Holifield has stayed in close contact with one Alabama coach.

"I have talked to Coach Harbison. I have told him that I am still coming to Alabama."

Alabama is heading to a bowl game for the first time in four years. Holifield is looking forward to being part of the Tide's top ranked defense.

"I think we are going to be really good in a couple of years. The freshman receivers will be very good. They did really good this year and I really enjoyed watching them," said Holifield.

The standout defensive end had a great season for Northwest. He believes a lot has changed since his days in high school.

"The season went pretty good. We were 8-2. I did good. I had 65 tackles with four sacks. I think I have matured a lot. I have gotten a better feel for the game speed. I have improved on my pass rush and my run stop. When I get to Alabama, I am going to be a leader. I am going to bring everything I have learned in high school and in junior college."

Holifield may be able to get to Alabama a little bit earlier than expected.

"My grades and classes are going pretty good. I might be able to get to Alabama this time next year. If not, it will be a year from next semester," replied Holifield.
