Upchurch Will Take Two More Visits

The Alabama coaching staff is making a strong push for Godby High School star, Roy Upchurch. This past weekend, all indications were that the three-star running back would make a verbal commitment to the Tide. Upchurch went home to Tallahassee impressed, but without giving a verbal commitment.

"It was a good visit. I had a real good time," Roy Upchurch said. "I really liked the atmosphere. All the buildings were real cool. I could tell the university spends a lot of money on education.

"I was hosted by Tim Castille. I hung out with both the Castille boys and Ray Hudson. I liked Tim (Castille). We are both really laid back."

Upchurch had a great visit with the Alabama coaching staff.

"I talked to Coach Shula for a while. He was telling me how bad they want me. They were waiting on me to go ahead and commit. I watched some film with Coach Woods. He was asking me what I would do in certain situations. If I was wrong, he would show me what I need to do," said Upchurch.

The Tallahassee native will wait a little longer before making a decision.

"I am still going to take my visit to Florida and Arkansas," he said. "I am going to Florida this weekend and Arkansas the next. I will have my decision made after my visit to Arkansas. I might take an unofficial visit to Florida State, but I really don't know about that right now."

After his visit to Alabama, Upchurch is naming a favorite.

"Alabama is my favorite, right now. I have seen more of Alabama, and I really don't know much about the other schools I am visiting. I have had more contact with the Alabama coaches. I know they want me. I want to see how much love I get at these other schools," said Upchurch.
