Johns Makes it Official with Bama

Mississippi quarterback Jimmy Johns inked with the Alabama Crimson Tide Wednesday.

Jimmy Johns, 6-3, 228 pounds, is a three-star prospect by Scout.com and was named Mr. Football for the state of Mississippi. Johns threw for 2,200 yards and 24 touchdowns in his senior season at Brookhaven High. Johns added 1,400 yards and 20 touchdowns running the football.

Johns chose Alabama over Mississippi State and Ole Miss. He said he has a 3.0 grade point average and an ACT score of 22. Johns said he plans to enroll at Alabama in July.

Johns said he chose Alabama because of "the people, facilities and the town."
