2 Big New Offers for Top Alabama WR

Tim Hawthorne, from Homewood High School, knew it would not be long before the Crimson Tide came calling. The offers are coming in left and right for the Homewood wide out, and two SEC powers have extended offers this week.

"I have picked up two offers since Monday. I received an offer from LSU Monday, and I received an offer from Alabama today," said Tim Hawthorne.

LSU was the first offer of the week, and Hawthorne is exited about the Tigers.

"The LSU offer came in the mail Monday. I heard they saw my highlight tape, and liked what they saw. Coach Les Miles sent the official offer in the mail, and he signed the letter himself. LSU is definitely one of my top teams now. I am going to try my hardest to go down there this summer for camp. I don't know if I will be able to take an official visit there, but I am going to see if I can make an unofficial visit. I want to check out their facilities, and talk to the coaching staff."

Hawthorne knew it was only a matter of time before Alabama sent the official word.

"Coach Cheese (Harbison) has been calling my school every other day. He was letting my coach know they really like me, and they were very impressed with my highlight film. I was talking to Coach Cheese today, and he put Coach Shula on the phone. We talked for a few minutes. Then, he told me they had a full scholarship for me," said Hawthorne.

"I really had a feeling it was only a matter of time before they offered me. I am really happy with the offer. Coach Cheese is a really cool guy. I'll be calling him everyday from now on. My parents and I are going to go down to Tuscaloosa one day, and do some one-on-one stuff.
I haven't picked a day yet. I know I am going to camp there June 12," Hawthorne added.

This weekend, Hawthorne will take the ACT, and will travel to Louisville April 16. He plans to attend the Scout.com combine in Auburn, April 30.
