Top O-Lineman commits early to Bama

Continuing his habit of identifying and recruiting the best athletes early, Tide Head Coach Dennis Franchione has picked up another commitment from an outstanding Alabama prep prospect. Guntersville offensive tackle Justin Moon has announced his intention to sign with the Tide.

Moon, a 6' 6 ½" 295 pound athlete is a highly motivated and dedicated player who has worked extremely hard over the summer to improve his game.

He plays right tackle and has a reputation for staying low, getting tremendous leverage, and showcasing great footwork. He is quick enough to handle most defensive ends and he has a 21" vertical jump.

Moon made All County and All Region as a junior. Determination is the word that best describes him for he attended Alabama's camp as a junior. He was clocked at 5.84 following his sophomore year, but since then he joined the Russ Pohemas sports medicine and fitness camp and he dropped his speed to 5.28. He also increased his bench press 50 lbs. Moon benches 285, squats 450, power cleans 280, and deadlifts 465.

The Guntersville native has a 3.7 GPA and took the ACT in February. It has always been his life long dream to play at Alabama and when he was offered recently he told everybody " I'm going to play for Coach Dennis Franchione and Alabama."
