Etowah DL Has Early Favorites

Jacobi Graves, from Etowah High School, had a big spring game against Sparkman. He is a big defensive lineman who dominates the line of scrimmage, and he is talking recruiting.

"I still only have the one offer from Alabama," said Jacobi Graves. "I think UAB may be close to offering me. The UAB coaches have said they want me for offensive line or tight end."

Though he doesn't have an overall favorite, his one offer from Alabama speaks volumes. Graves said, "Alabama has a great atmosphere. They have great coaches. I have gotten to know the coaches really well. It's a really big deal to go to Alabama. It would be really big to play under a guy like Coach Mike Shula."

Graves has become very acquainted with his recruiting coach for Alabama. "Coach (Dave) Ungerer is a really cool guy," he said. "I like him a lot. He is always straight to the point. I have been needing to call Coach Randolph, and talk to him about a few things. I will probably talk to him later this week."

"My top three are Alabama, UAB, and Michigan State. I don't have an overall favorite right now," said Graves. "I like UAB because they have a great educational program. I am planning to get my degree in Pharmacy. I have heard they have a great school. I like Michigan State because my dad has always been a fan. I started liking them a lot. I also like their coach."

To cap off a productive spring training, Etowah defeated Sparkman in their spring game. "I did really good in the game. We won 14-0. I had three sacks," he said.

"Overall, I felt like spring training went really good. We had a lot of fun this spring. We had coaches from Memphis, Alabama, UAB, Jacksonville State, and Georgia Southern visit during the spring," Graves added.

Graves plans to attend summer camps at Alabama, Louisville, and UAB.
