Alabama Picks Up Another OL

Alabama OL Taylor Pharr is a coveted target for quite a few schools in the south for the class of '06. On Thursday night however he chose to end his recruitment and make a commitment to the in-state Crimson Tide.

"I just committed to Alabama a few minutes ago. I was ready to go ahead and make my decision because that's always where I've wanted to go," Taylor Pharr said.

Taylor informed the Alabama coaches of his decision tonight as well.

"I spoke with Coach Shula, Coach Harbison and Randy Ross. Coach Shula was really excited and looking forward to having me down there. Coach Harbison was also very excited. They want me to come down there for an unofficial visit the week after next."

What sold the Irondale product on the Tide?

"Alabama is a place I've always wanted to play since I was a little kid. There couldn't be a better situation for me as far as playing time on the offensive line either. I'm glad to get my decision over with. My whole family is excited, were all jumping up and down."

Taylor is done with recruiting all together.

"I won't be taking any other official visits. I'm done."

Pharr becomes the 2nd offensive lineman to commit to the Tide in as many days, and their 6th commitment overall in the class of 2006. He chose Bama over the likes of LSU, Auburn, Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech and Clemson.
