Florida Linebacker High on Tide

Charlie Kirschman, 6-3, 229-pound, linebacker from Nease High School, has received an offer from the Crimson Tide. Kirschman has a boatload of offers, and he discusses his favorite.

"I received a new offer from Alabama Thursday," said Charlie Kirschman. "I received the offer through the mail."

Kirschman is holding offers from Alabama, Louisville, Vanderbilt, Iowa, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Maryland, Duke, Nebraska, Purdue, Air Force, Marshall, East Carolina, UCONN, Troy, and Toledo.

With an impressive list of offers, Kirschman said, "I have not narrowed down my list yet, but Alabama is way up there. I would have to say they are my favorite right now. I am very excited about the offer from them. The other schools I am interested in are the ones who have offered me."

Kirschman was in Tuscaloosa for summer camp and had a chance to see first hand what the Tide has to offer.

"I am impressed with the school, the tradition, and the coaching staff. Alabama is a great place," Kirschman said.

Nease High School will travel to Hoover for a great match-up with the Buccaneers. The game is scheduled for August 27, at 11:00am on ESPN. Kirschman has a lot on his plate between now and the nationally scheduled broadcast.

"I would like to make my decision before the season," he said. "I want to focus on winning a state championship."

Kirschman knows what type of program will land his signature and said, "I am looking at the football program, the tradition, the academics, the championships, and the coaching staff."

The Nease linebacker hit several summer camps and each camp had it's strong points.

"I have been to camps at Alabama, Florida, and Georgia Tech. I had a great time at Alabama's camp. It was fun working with Coach [Joe] Kines. I went to Florida's camp about two weeks ago. I was impressed with the facilities. Georgia Tech's camp went good. I really liked the Olympic recreational facility. It was awesome," Kirschman added.
