Recruiting profile: Kelcy McKissic

The final and possibly most athletic of the Luke/McKissic brothers of Phenix City, Kelcy McKissic is one of the most dynamic quarterback prospects in the state.

McKissic (6-1, 196) runs a 4.60 40-yard dash and has been compared to elusive quarterbacks like Michael Vick.

Out of Phenix City's Central High School, McKissic was the All Bi-City Offensive Player of the Year as a junior after leading his team to a 9-2 season and the second round of the state playoffs.

McKissic is the brother of Triandos Luke (Alabama) and Nic Luke (Alabama), but most say he is the most talented athlete of the three.

He rushed for 302 yards and 4 Tds as a junior, while passing for 960 yards and 7 Tds.

McKissic is rangy and tough enough to play defense in college, but he is too valuable in high school to risk injury. He does play free safety in practice so that he will be very aware of his tendencies and reactions in case he is needed on friday nights. The experience also helps him at quarterback to know what the safety will do on passing downs.

He has camped at Auburn. McKissic benches 285 pounds, squats 365, and power cleans 255.

McKissic has a 3.4 GPA and scored 16 on his first ACT. He plans to retake the test in April and should have no trouble qualifying.

McKissic's early list of schools contains Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Ole Miss, and West Virginia.
