Training Camp Injury Report

As injury reports go, Alabama's has been encouragingly short through the first three days of fall training camp. Seven players were in the burnt orange "injury" jersey: Mark Anderson, Cody Davis, Juke King, Kenneth Vandervoort, Ramzee Robinson, Jimmy Barnes and Chris Harris.

Shula said that Anderson, who had arthroscopic knee surgery on July 21, is on schedule or ahead of schedule to return to practice next week.

"We'll see him in uniform some time next week, hopefully," Shula said.

Davis, King, Vandervoort and Harris have hamstring strains, while Ramzee Robinson was still out with a strained back from Wednesday. Barnes is out for at least the remainder of the week while he recovers from mononucleosis.

Head Coach Mike Shula said that defensive tackle Jeremy Clark has "a little bit of a pull in his groin", but clark was in regular uniform on Thursday. "He was in pads, we just limited him," Shula said.

"All these guys we feel like should be back quickly," he said. "No one got hurt in practice today."

There were some other players missing from practice, but not for any medical reason. Several players are taking final exams from the summer semester on Thursday and Friday.

"That's why we moved practice back to 4:30, because we had a lot of two o'clock exams," Shula said. "Hopefully we get a lot of As and Bs, and then have a good practice like we did today."

Shula said that Tim Castille was incorporated more into seven-on-seven drills Thursday than he had previously been. Castille's chances for a return early this season have been on the rise the past two days.
