"I have been trying to debate between the Alabama-Florida game, Tennessee-Ole Miss and the Vanderbilt game," said Deantwan Whitehead. "The Alabama game seems like the biggest game to go to. All the top prospects are going to be there. That is the game I will attend."
"Alabama has been playing off-the-chain. Their defense is one of the best in the country. Florida is going to give them a run for their money. I am predicting Alabama will win the game in an upset," Whitehead added.
Whitehead was wide open with his recruitment last week naming over thirty schools still in the mix for his signature. He has trimmed his list to fifteen schools, but he has seven schools he remembers the most.
"There are a lot of schools out there who are impressing me," he said. "I have fifteen schools left on my list. I like Louisville, Arkansas, Georgia, Auburn, Alabama, UCLA and Cal. There are a few other schools, but I don't have my list with me."
Scout.com upgraded Whitehead's status from a four-star to a five-star recruit, and Whitehead is proving his rating with a monster senior year.
"The season is going pretty good," he said. "We are 2-3 though. We play Parker at Fair Park Friday night. I am averaging 13 tackles, five for loss and between one and two sacks every game."
The five star defensive end has seen his share of visitors in the past month, and he received a special guest at school on Monday.
"Coach Houston Nutt (Arkansas) came by the school yesterday," said Whitehead. "I talked to him for a few minutes tonight. He wanted to see me in person. He wants me to know how much they need me and how I could play as soon as I get there. Arkansas is still high on my list even though they have not been winning. They are showing a lot of good signs."
"I have seen coaches from Louisville, Auburn, Alabama and UCLA come by the school this month as well," Whitehead added.
Whitehead has set two official visits. He will visit Louisville (11/25) and Arkansas (12/03), and he has not decided who will receive the other three visits.
