Alabama had its first big weekend of prospects making official visits, and it didn't take long for the Crimson Tide to get a payoff. One of the top wide receivers in the South announced he would be signing with Bama on February 1.
Mike McCoy was still visiting with Alabama coaches Sunday afternoon when he revealed by telephone that he had committed to Crimson Tide Head Coach Mike Shula.
He is a three-star prospect from Northwest High School in Brandon, Mississippi. He is 6-2, 195 pounds.
"I felt that Alabama was the best place for me," McCoy said. "My official visit this weekend was great and that's why I decided to make my commitment. I will not take any more visits."
He had offers from LSU, Auburn, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State.
We will have more in a story later.
