Ricks High on Tide

It's an in-state battle for one of the top players in the South. The Crimson Tide made a big impression on Jermarcus Ricks this weekend.

Scout.com four-star lineman Jermarcus Ricks made his official visit to Alabama this weekend. The 6-4, 285 pound lineman has the Tide sitting high on his list after his visit.

"The visit went great," said Jermarcus Ricks from Colbert County. "I really had a great time down there. I think I could fit in really well. We got to do everything."

"We toured the university, checked out the lockerrooms, watched practice and ate a lot of good food. I got to sit down with the coaches and talk to them about a lot of stuff. It was just a great visit. I had a lot of fun," added Ricks.

Ricks is being recruited by Alabama as a defensive lineman, and he spent a lot of time with Alabama defensive line coach Buddy Wyatt.

"Coach Wyatt and I met one-on-one for a long time," Ricks said. "I think I was the only defensive tackle down there this weekend. Coach Wyatt showed me everything he does with all his new defensive tackles. He went over fundamentals and showed me all the different types of schemes they run. I really had a great time meeting with him."

Alabama defensive lineman Jeremy Clark was the player host for Ricks during his official visit as he said, "Jeremy showed me a great time. I had a lot of fun with him. We went to a few of the other players' houses and went to a few parties. We hung out with everyone."

Ricks is certainly high off his visit to Tuscaloosa, but will continue to wait until after his official visit to Auburn (1-13 before making a decision.

Ricks said, "Right now I really don't know what I am going to do. I think I am going to keep things even right now between both schools. I want to take my official visit to Auburn and see how that goes."

"The visit to Alabama this weekend definitely helped them out a lot," Ricks added.
