Bama In Top Two For Four-Star DE

Scout.com four-star Kentrell Lockett is one of the best defensive ends in the Southeast. Lockett has scholarship offers from several of the South's elite programs, and he has trimmed his list to two SEC schools.

"Basically the only two schools I am considering are Alabama and Ole Miss," said Kentrell Lockett from Hahnville High School. "I will visit Alabama January 13, and I will visit Ole Miss January 20."

"Both schools are equal right now," Lockett continued. "I want to go on my official visits and find the place where I want to spend the next four to five years of my life. I think those two schools will be my only visits."

When asked the reasons for the final two schools Lockett replied, "I have made a really tight bond with the coaches from both schools. I don't even feel like I am being recruited. I feel like I have developed a strong friendship with the coaches from Alabama and Ole Miss."

Lockett talks about his favorites.

Alabama: "When I went to Alabama for the LSU game, I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The coaches and the fans showed so much love for the team."

Ole Miss: "I have built a strong relationship with coach [Ed] Orgeron and coach {Frank] Wilson. I really like them a lot."

Coaches from Alabama and Ole Miss have made several trips to Boutte, Louis. to see the 6-5, 230 pound defensive end.

"Coach [Buddy] Wyatt from Alabama has been here a couple of times," Lockett said. "Each visit went pretty good. He is a very nice guy. Coach Wilson from Ole Miss have been down here either four or five times already. Those visits have all been really good as well."

"I would say that my relationship with both schools is about equal," Lockett added.
