Hutchins Still Looking

Alabama linebacker verbal commitment LaBronski Hutchins claims he is solid to the Tide, but is looking to take two other official visits.

"I talked to coach [Dave] Ungerer last week a little bit about when a good time for me to come down would be," said LaBronski Hutchins. "I am going to call coach Ungerer back tonight and tell him I will visit Alabama this weekend."

"The Alabama coaches have not made an in-home visit with me this month. They have not been to see me since before we got out for Christmas break. I talk to coach Ungerer on the phone every week though," Hutchins added.

When Hutchins gave his verbal commitment to the Tide in October, he knew he was interested in looking around. The 6-3, 180-pound athlete has not scheduled visits, but two other schools have his attention.

"I am thinking about taking official visits to Auburn and to Louisville," he said. "I like those two schools, and I feel like I will give them a chance. I have a cousin that played for Auburn, and the coaches have been trying to persuade me to switch my commitment. At Louisville one of my former teammates, Jonathan Russell, is up there. I really like the coaches up there as well."

Hutchins has interest in other schools, but expresses his reasons for an early verbal commitment to the Tide.

"I really liked the atmosphere, the fans and the coaches," he said. "The Alabama coaches are by far the best coaches I have met."

When asked a final decision Hutchins replied, "I am sure I will have my decision made on February 1. I am pretty sure I am going to stick with my commitment to Alabama. It's a great school. I like them a lot."

"I will have to sit down with my parents to discuss everything. I want to hear what they have to say," Hutchins concluded.
