Decision Time

One of Alabama's top tight end prospects took an official visit to Tennessee over the weekend and following his trip he has narrowed his list down to three schools with a final decision coming sometime in the next week.

Athletic 6-3, 250 Michael Goggans from Benjamin Russell High was an early commitment to the Vols before backing off that during the football season. Following trips to both Alabama and Auburn he said that both were in the running for his signature and now after being in Knoxville he notes the trip didn't change that.

"I would put Alabama, Auburn and Tennessee even," Goggans tells Inside The Auburn Tigers. "I'll keep everyone even and my options open. That was my last visit and I plan to make my decision by mid-week or so."

Goggans is a player that is expected to get his first look at tight end on the next level.

In town for his official visit while the basketball team took on number two Florida at Thompson-Boling Arena, Goggans says that the atmosphere at the game was one of the things that stood out to him about the visit to Tennessee.

"I enjoyed the visit," Goggans says. "I got a chance to visit the whole city and get a better view of things. I enjoyed going to the basketball games and seeing all the fans and their support."

Goggans says that he'll now sit back with his family and coaches at Benjamin Russell to weigh his decision. Familiar with each school and what they have to offer, Goggans says that he has plenty of material to think about before making his final choice.

"I'm going to compare the positives and negatives of each school, me and my parents," Goggans says. "I'm just going to decide the best school academically and athletically for me. I've got three good schools and I've just got to weigh more options out before I decide. That's about it."
