Taylor Pharr is an outstanding lineman and a punter as well.
"I set the state record this year against Carver-Birmingham with an 86-yard punt," Pharr said. "It was crazy. The ball even landed on the one yard line. I averaged 43.7 yards per punt. I don't know if Coach Connelly is going to let me do that. There has been a little bit of talk about it though."
There was no doubt Pharr wanted to play college football for the Crimson Tide.
"Alabama sets itself apart from any other university," he said. "The tradition is unmatched. I always wanted to play there since I was a little kid. The coaches are great, and the program is heading in the right direction."
"On offensive line I graded out at 89%, and I had 46 pancake blocks."
The 6-6.5 278-pound tackle plans to enroll for the second session of summer school in July.
Pharr is on track to qualify with a 3.75 GPA and a 19 score on the ACT.
