Great Addition

Phenix City isn't far from Auburn, but Alabama has had great success in luring excellent football players from Phenix City. Despite a late push by the Tigers, four-star quarterback Earl Alexander of Central High School in Phenix City stuck with his commitment to the Crimson Tide and signed with Bama Wednesday.

Alabama signee Earl Alexander recorded over 1,700 yards of offense and 17 touchdowns during his senior season. He passed for over 1,200 yards and 10 touchdowns, and added 500 yards on the ground with seven scores.

He was honorable mention 6A all-state by the Alabama Sports Writers Association.

Alexander said, "I always said once I made my commitment, I would stick with it. I saw the situation at quarterback and receiver at Alabama. I felt I could compete with those guys. I made up my mind. I felt more comfortable at Alabama and more at home."

Alexander will get his first look at quarterback, but many recruiting experts project him at wide receiver. His 6-4, 205-pound frame and sensational speed will make Alexander a special player on the next level.

Alexander projects as a full qualifier.
