Dial In

Alabama Football Coach Mike Shula has wanted to sign outstanding tight ends in each recruiting class, and he got an excellent signee Wednesday in Scout.com four-star Preston Dial of UMS Wright in Mobile.

Preston Dial was considered one of the top tight ends in the Southeast in 2005 and was definitely Alabama's top prospect at the position.

At 6-4, 240-pounds, he earned All-State honors and was named Class 4A Player of the Year and Class 4A Lineman of the Year.

Dial caught 22 passes for 455 yards and scored four touchdowns during his senior year.

Dial chose Alabama over Florida State, LSU and Tennessee.

"I think the coaching staff was the most truthful and honest I had ever been around," Dial said. "They were all-around the best coaches I met. The tradition and the players set them apart from schools like Florida State and LSU."

Dial is on track to qualify and will enroll at The University in July.
