Out of State Favorite for Florida Athlete

Art Evans, a talented athlete from the Sunshine State, had an incredible junior season, and colleges are showing a lot of interest. He is naming an early favorite from a list of elite programs.

"I haven't received any offers yet," said Art Evans from Evangel Christian in Lakeland, (Fla.). "I have been receiving a lot of interest from Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Maryland and Indiana."

"My favorites right now are Alabama, LSU, Miami and Georgia. Alabama is my overall favorite."

Evans gave several reasons why the Crimson Tide is an early favorite for his signature.

"My former teammate Chris Rogers is up there right now," Evans said. "I have always been a fan, but when Chris went there my interest went a lot of higher."

"I really like the way they run-pass the ball on offense. They are very balanced. The coaches are very upfront with you as well."

The Sunshine State phenom talks about his other favorites.

LSU: "I really like their facilities."

Miami: "I like how they produce a lot of great wide receivers and defensive backs."

Georgia: "Georgia is like my home town. I can't really say too much about it. I just like them."

Evans broke out as a junior recording 62 receptions for 1,329 yards with 16 touchdowns and intercepted 11 passes on defense scoring two touchdowns. He returned eight punts for touchdowns as well.

The 6-1, 175-pound athlete is being recruited as a receiver and cornerback, but he has a preference and shared, "I would prefer to play cornerback. I feel like I am very explosive and aggressive. I am a play-maker. I really want to get better on my footwork during this off-season."

Evans performs in the classroom as well with a 3.7 GPA and a score of 19 on the ACT. His academics are in order to enjoy a great senior season on the field and have a great recruiting season from college coaches.

Evans plans to attend Junior Day at Alabama, Georgia and Miami.
