Jeff Davis Linebacker Names Top Three

Jeff Davis linebacker Jonathan Beasley had a great junior season, and the 6-2, 215-pound playmaker has attracted the interest of several schools.

"I have been receiving interest from LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Illinois, Louisville and Wake Forest," said Jonathan Beasley from Montgomery, (Ala.). "I have not received any offers yet. I do have three schools that I really like a lot though."

"My favorites are LSU, Alabama and Auburn. They are all equal. I don't have an overall favorite. I am going to Alabama's Junior Day this weekend (3-4), and I will go to Auburn next weekend (3-11)."

Beasley had a productive junior campaign recording 80 tackles and six sacks from his linebacker position.

He was named All-Metro, Honorable Mention All-State and participated in the Alabama Junior All-Star game.

When asked his strengths Beasley responded, "I feel like my strengths are getting to the ball and my explosiveness. I would like to improve my speed (4.7) before next season."

It's a long way until signing day 2007, but Beasley knows what will help determine his decision.

"I am looking for early playing time and a good coaching staff," he said.

He holds a 2.4 GPA and will take the ACT in April.

Beasley will participate in the All-American Combine in Tuscaloosa April 29.
