Birmingham Attends Alabama Junior Day

Benjamin Russell Jonathan Birmingham is one of the top linebacker prospects in the state for the class of 2007. He visited Auburn's practice last Thursday and took in Alabama's Junior Day Saturday afternoon.

"The visit to Auburn was really good," said Jonathan Birmingham from Alexander City, (Ala.). "I really liked their practice, the atmosphere and the facilities. The coaches were real nice as well."

"I only went down there for the practice. I didn't stay long. I think Auburn is a really good school. They put a lot of players in the pros. I will consider Auburn if they offer me a scholarship."

Birmingham was in Tuscaloosa over the weekend and shared his thoughts of his visit.

"I really liked Junior Day this weekend," he said. "I liked watching the defense at practice. I like their playing style. They were really getting after each other."

"I liked the linebackers coach [Joe Kines]. I like how he coaches. I think I would fit in real well with Alabama's defense."

The 6-0, 205-pound linebacker is hesitant to name a leader, but expresses strong feelings for the Crimson Tide program.

"I really like Alabama's school a lot," he said. "I like all the facilities. They are real nice. I liked the big weight room."

Birmingham is staying busy and will attend Florida State's Junior Day later this month.

He will participate in the All-American Combine in Tuscaloosa April 29.
