Miles Best In Two Events

Alabama Gymnastics senior Ashley Miles, number one in the nation for a majority of the season on the vault is now ranked first on the floor exercise as well.

Ashley Miles, who scored a 9.975 on the floor exercise to help Alabama close out Stanford last Friday, took over the nation's top spot after two weeks at number two. The San Antonio, Texas native is in her ninth week ranked first on the vault.

As a team, Alabama is ranked fifth in the nation. Georgia remains at number one while Utah, sixth last week, jumps back to second this week. Florida is third, followed by Iowa State.

Oklahoma drops to sixth this week while Stanford and LSU flip flop, with the Cardinal taking over seventh and the Tigers dropping to eighth. Michigan and UCLA are ninth and 10th respectively.

Behind Miles powerhouse tumbling, Alabama is second on the floor exercise and fourth on the vault. Sixth on the uneven bars, the Tide is 14th on the balance beam. Freshman Brittany Magee is 20th on the floor exercise and the vault. Sophomore Terin Humphrey is 13th on the uneven bars.

Alabama faces in-state rival Auburn Friday, March 17 at 7:30 p.m. in Coleman Coliseum. The Tide's regular season finale, Friday will be Senior Night for the Tide as they honor Miles, Mari Bayer, Rachael Delahoussaye, Dana Filetti and Dana Pierce.
