The State Representative

McGill-Toolen defensive end Sidell Corley is one of the best defensive players in the country for the class of 2007. Corley is holding over 40 scholarship offers, and he knows he represents the state of Alabama very well.

"Sidell has his latest offers from Penn State, Baylor and Maryland," said Sidell Corley, Sr. "He has 44 total offers now. We know of a few other schools who are planning to offer him this spring as well."

Corley mentioned the Florida Gators and the Ole Miss Rebels recently as frontrunners for his signature, but one college coach is trying to keep the star from leaving the home-state.

"I spoke to coach [Mike] Shula for about an hour yesterday," Corley said. "He was telling me how Sidell represents the state of Alabama wherever he goes. He said that he knows Sidell is a great football player, but he has heard how great of a kid he is from everyone he talks to."

"Coach Shula said he plans to come down at the end of April and will come back the second week of spring training."

Spring break is next week for the Corleys, and he will take a couple of unofficial visits.

"We are going to visit Georgia and Alabama next week," he said.

The decision time-frame for the 6-4, 250-pound defensive end has changed again.

"We want to take a few unofficial visits this summer," Corley said. "We want to go out to schools like Oklahoma and see what they have to offer."

"We plan to have a decision made before school starts. He is going to go with his heart. He still may take official visits after he decides."
