Crump Makes Decision three-star Patrick Crump decided a few weeks ago where he would play college football. The Hoover lineman informed the coaching over a week ago and decided to go public with his decision Tuesday afternoon.

"I called to inform you I made my decision and I will be going to Alabama," said Patrick Crump from Hoover, (Ala.)

"I decided to accept the greyshirt offer over the other offers I had. I made my decision over a week and a half ago."

"I did not want to have all the publicity so I decided to hold off on my announcement. The coaches were very excited when I told them of my decision."

Crump is a part of the class of 2008 and is excited about his future opportunity.

"I felt like the greyshirt was the best situation for me," he said. "I am only 16 years old, and it will give me a chance to get bigger and stronger. I am thrilled about this opportunity."

As offers started pouring in from elite programs such as Michigan and Tennessee, Crump knew all along where he wanted to play college football.

"I knew from day one I wanted to go to Alabama," he said. "It's the place I always wanted to play. I am finished with my recruitment. I will not take any more visits."

Crump becomes the second player to accept a greyshirt offer for the Tide for the class of 2008.
