Wyatt, 40, joined the Alabama coaching staff prior to the 2003 season. He will depart for his new job immediately and will assist the Nebraska Cornhuskers staff in its AT&T Cotton Bowl contest against Auburn University slated for January 1, 2007, in Dallas, Texas.
"We're happy for Buddy, that he found a quality job at a fine place such as Nebraska," said Crimson Tide Interim Head Coach Joe Kines. "Buddy's an excellent coach who has done a very good job for us over the last four years here. While I will miss his work with us for the Independence Bowl, it is a great opportunity for Buddy and his family."
Wyatt, a native of Victoria, Texas, and a 1989 graduate of Texas Christian University and his wife, Andrea, have two children: a son, Frederick, and a daughter, Ariel.
