Michael McNeil Hears from 'Bama

Scout.com four-star safety Michael McNeil, from Mobile-Davidson, (Ala.), has scheduled visits to Auburn (1-12) and Florida State (1-18). McNeil said in his last interview he had not heard from Alabama since Mike Shula was released. McNeil talks more on his recruitment and the new Tide coaches calling.

"I talked to the new staff [Alabama] yesterday [1-6]," Michael McNeil said from Mobile, (Ala.).

"I talked to Lance Thompson, Kirby Smart and Nick Saban. They were just trying to reassure that I was taking a visit to Alabama . They told me what all their goals are and stuff like that. I am visiting on the 26th. It was good to hear from Alabama because I haven't heard from them in awhile."

The University of Alabama has gone through a coaching transition, and McNeil got lost in the shuffle of not hearing from anyone on the staff since the release of Mike Shula. Does Alabama really have a shot of landing the talented Davidson product with a new stafff less than a month away before National Signing Day?

"Yes Sir," McNeil said. '"If not I wouldn't take the visit."

When asked to updates his favorites, "Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn and Florida State," McNeil said as those schools were in "no particular order."
