Darius Hanks Talks of Tide Decision

Wide receiver Darius Hanks, from Norcross, (Ga.), knew when he left Tuscaloosa Sunday afternoon where he wanted to play his college ball. It didn't take long for Hanks to make his commitment.

"I committed to Alabama about 11:00 a.m. today," said Darius Hanks from Norcross, (Ga.). "I talked to coach [Nick] Saban and told him about my decision."

"He was real excited. He said I brought a smile to his face. He said he is excited to have me in Tuscaloosa."

Hanks has his reasons for committing to Alabama.

"The tradition, coach Saban and the new coaching staff," he said. "I will have a chance to play next year as well. All the other big schools weren't going to give me that chance."

"I feel really good about the coaching staff. I like coach [Burton] Burns a lot. They have other coaches with a lot of experience as well. They should be really good in the future."

"It feels really good to be committed to Alabama right now. I was going to visit Georgia this weekend, but I am not going to do that anymore."

The standout receiver wants to improve two areas before arriving in Tuscaloosa.

"I am going to try to improve on my size and speed before I get there," Hanks concluded.
